INK & INSPIRATION BLOG HOP - HALLOWEEN/FALL

Welcome to the monthly Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. This month's theme is Halloween/Fall.

You are currently visiting Rosalie Desmond from Australia. I hope you enjoy my project.

This month's theme has given me the opportunity to use the Rooted in Nature stamp set. By using Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Daffodil Delight I bought the Fall theme to my card.

I decided that I wanted to make a fun fold card for today's project, but also wanted to keep it simple. I cut a standard type of card base using half an A4 sheet of paper. I then grabbed the trimmer and made a diagonal cut in the front to create and interesting shape. For visual details of how to do this see the YouTube video below.

Using the square thinlit dies, a frame was created to boarder the main image of the card.

I added some stamped leave images on both the card front and also the inside piece of cardstock to add some extra interest and texture.

I hope you enjoy the remainder of the hop. Make sure that you don't miss any of the lovely projects.

Until next time. Happy crafting,

GO FOR GREECE BLOG HOP AUGUST 2018

Today I am joining the Go For Greece Blog Hop. In this hop, lots of lovely members of the Go For Greece Training Group have joined forces to inspire you.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me. Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

While this card design is simple, I also find it very elegant. Due to the sentiment "Amazing You" this card can be used for a variety of occasions.

I love to stretch my stamp sets and look outside the norm. I have done this with Hold On To Hope set. This set is a religious set which is very useful for projects that are for occasions such as Baptisms, Christenings, Confirmations or Sympathy. By simply using a different sentiment, in this case die cuts from Celebrate You thinlit set, I  have been able to use some of the images to create a heat embossed background.

For more details on how to make this card, please check out my video.

This card design would work with any card stock colour.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you find lots of inspiration,

Rosalie

ALL OCCASIONS WITH PETAL PALETTE BUNDLE

I like to have some all occasions cards in my stash that I can use for anything. I find by not having a sentiment, it often makes a card more versatile. This one could be used for a birthday, thank you, thinking of you, get well or even just because, depending on what I hand write in the center.

I used one of  the smaller floral images and stamped them in a line to create the background image. The Bermuda Bay strip was run through the Big Shot using one of the embossing folders from Petal Pair Textured Impressions (145656) from the 2018 Occasions Catalogue.

I then used the same style as the background for the inside of the card.

I added a little colour to the images by using a blender pen, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz and Flirty Flamingo ink.

BEAUTIFUL PEACOCK - #GDP120

After a long blogging break, and an even longer break from entering challenges, I thought it would be fun to play along with the latest Global Design Project challenge.

Here is my entry.

Inspiration can come from many places, from photos, scenery, clothing, nature and the like. This time, the inspiration is from Krista's card. I used not only her layout, but also her colour palette.

I love the way the Soft Sky, Gold and White remind me of elegance and relaxation. I choose not to have a sentiment on my card. This will allow me to have versatility and use the card for an almost endless amount of purposes.

For this card I used the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp set - Beautiful Peacock. You are able to receive this set for FREE by spending over $90 AUS in any order between now and March 31, 2018.

Measurements:

Whisper White Card Base 21 x 20cm, scored at 10.5cm
Larger Whisper White Layer 9.5 x 14cm7
Smaller Whisper White Layer 8 x 12.5cm

Swap - Crafting Forever

Recently I participated in a card swap with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators. We were split into groups. Each person created multiples of the same card. Participating in this group means I now have 11 cards, all different designs, by different people with new products from the 2017-2018 Annual Catalogue.

This is my swap using the Crafting Forever stamp set which was made almost four weeks ago. The main image is coloured in using the 2017-2019 in-colour Stampin' Write markers.

I used the paint brushes to create an interesting background for my card.

Measurements:

Basic Black Card Base 29.6 x 10.5cm, scored at 14.8cm
Whisper White Layer 13.9 x 8.5cm
Scraps of Whisper White and Lemon Lime Twist cut with oval framelits

GIFT OF LOVE #GDP077

A colour challenge is always good for my creativity. It helps give me some direction. Today I am creating using the colour challenge from the Global Design Project.

A simple card for any occasion.

The Gift of Love Stamp Set which is one of the hostess sets in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue produces lovely cards using a delicate flower design. The colouring of both the leaves and the flowers are actually stamps which are part of this set.

Here is the colour challenge I used with my colour of choice - Soft Sky, which I used on the Whisper White background to give the look of sky behind the flower.

Love Sparkles - Global Design Project #076

I am very excited by this week's Global Design Project. This week is a CASE and I love the layout, so it became the inspiration for my card.

As soon as I saw the layout I knew I wanted to use the dot from Layered Letters Alphabet and then run it through the Petal Burst Embossing Folder.

I used the labels and tags framelits to layer up my sentiment which was "Cheers" from the Love Sparkles stamp set. I then used fine tipped glue and Dazzleing Diamonds.
"Cheers" is a very versatile sentiment - birthday, congratulations, hello. The works. So Cheers to you today.

Here is the card I CASEd.

Avant-Garden: Sale-a-Bration

Having a play with my FREE Avant-Garden stamp set and Irresistibly Floral DSP.

I usually colour the irresistibly floral papers but this time I decide to leave it white. Due to the embossing, which is part of the papers, it provides texture without me having to do anything. This paper is perfect for the time-poor crafter.

This stamp set is so easy to use. One of the stamps in the set is a group of spots, which makes a great background and adds texture to the look of the card. I used one of the flowers in the set as the focal point.

The Avant-Gardeen stamp set is FREE during Sale-a-Bration! All you have to do is place an order of $90AUS or more during the Sale-a-Bration period and chose it as your FREE gift, only while stocks last.

HEY, CHICK

I've seen these cute little chicks everywhere from the Hey, Chick stamp set and finally got around to inking mine up.

I made this card with a friend in mind. Her favourite colour is purple as I am sure you can tell, and one of her well used phrases is "Hey, chick". It is almost as if this stamp set was made for her.

My card design is very simple. I made my own background by stamping the same image as my focal chick on a layer of Whisper White card stock. The main image is coloured using Stampin' Write markers and cut out with oval framelits.  I then cut a scallop oval out of Blushing Bride glimmer paper.

I wonder what you could make with this set??

The Hey, Chick stamp set is FREE during Sale-a-Bration! All you have to do is place an order of $90AUS or more during the Sale-a-Bration period and chose it as your FREE gift, only while stocks last.

I loved this design so much, that I made a second card in shades of pink.

TOUCHES OF TEXTURE

Touches of Texture - I love using this stamp set so much. The combination of background splatter and lovely images make it so easy and fun to use.

I used a Pool Party and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers to colour the petals on the flowers.

Love is like a flower...

Just because a stamp set is made for a particular purpose, it does not mean that we have to use it as such. On this card, which uses Birthday Blooms, I have only used one of the flower images. I chose not to add any sentiment to my card so I can use it for almost any occasion.

I decided to fussy cut the image and pop it on Basic Black card stock to give it a little "pop".

I've decided to enter todays card in Crazy Crafters Team Highlights this week. The team highlights are hosted by Kylie Bertucci. If you like my card and want to vote for it, please follow this link and vote after 7pm AEST. Also take a look at the other wonderful projects made by some Crazy Crafters.
