Have a Beautiful Birthday - Mojo#406

I love the inspiration I gain from challenges and this weeks Mojo Monday is no different. This week we have a sketch, and today it is a lifesaver.

For those of you that have been following me for awhile, you would know that July is a huge birthday month in our family. This year I have a couple of extras I need to do on top of my norm. Lets just hope I get them all done in time.

We have a double 60th to go to on the weekend. My brother and his sister-in-law. Hers is the one I am concentrating on today. I don't think I have even seen her in 15 years, so this was a hard one for me to make. I decided to utilise the sketch to give me the inspiration I needed. Here is my card.

I decided to stay simple and elegant, choosing to stay with black and white.

Butterfly leaves for a friend

Well once again I have used the lovely and versatile stamp set, Sheltering Tree, but this time with a twist.

This card utilises a few sets to create this image. For the leaves instead of using the stamp from the Sheltering Tree set, I used the butterflies from Perpetual Birthday Calendar. The sentiment for this card is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

The trunk of the tree is in Chocolate Chip ink. The leaves use Melon Mambo and Melon Mambo stamped off, to make it just a little lighter. The sun image is stamped in Blushing Bride. The card stock used is Whisper White and Melon Mambo.

Now one for a little boy...

With a 5 year old boy in the house it is always a great idea to have a few spare cards suitable for little boy birthdays. After the latest run of birthday parties I thought it was time to add a few more to my stash.

So it was time to get out the "Boys will be Boys" stamp set, my blendabilities and get it to work once more. This is what I came up with today. Hope you like it.

Stampin' Up Christmas

Yay for Friday! Hope that everyone has had a great week.

I decided that I needed to get a start on Christmas cards. Today I played with Winter Frost DSP which was in the holiday cataloge. I love the way it looks when you add a bit of silver.  Lucky for me I brought some silver ribbon when I placed the order for Winter Frost.
