EASEL CARD - Petal Palette

Sometimes I just grab some colours and a stamp set and then roll with it to see what happens. This is one of those times. I felt like making a fun fold, because it was a fun fold kind of day. So on that note, it became an Easel Card.

One of the things I love about easel cards is that they fold flat, which is wonderful for posting and also for placing inside a regular envelope.

The rose image that was used as the main focus of the card was heat embossed using white embossing powder. I then coloured the flowers using a Night of Navy Stampin' Write marker.

Easel cards are simple and fun to make.

Dimensionals are used to raise the strips of card stock, so it acts as a stopper to catch the front of the card, allowing it appear like an easel.

Until next time. Happy crafting,
Rosalie

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Special Guest - Patty Bennett

Welcome to the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our Special Guest stamper Patty Bennett.

This month we are excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Patty. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.
You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me.  Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

We are thrilled that Patty said yes to playing along with the Crazy Crafters this month.

With so many amazing projects to choose from it was hard to just choose one for inspiration. Then I came across one of her more recent cards and fell in love. So this is the one I have taken inspiration from today. In her blog post for this card, she has a Youtube video in which she explains how to make this easel card.

I love the layout and the double ribbon bow on this card, so I used these elements to create todays card.

I used the Picture Perfect stamp set from the 2016 Occasions catalogue. I just love this bird stamp from the set. You use different colours and layer it up to create your desired image. For this one I used a combination of basic grey, smoky slate and memento black to produce my image. The sentiment was stamped in versamark and heat embossed in silver.

I carried these colours through by using black and silver ribbon, and some silver thread behind the bird. The DSP (double sided paper) was from the Neutrals DSP stack, choosing the silver paper to tie in with the rest of the card.

Stampin' Up Christmas

Yay for Friday! Hope that everyone has had a great week.

I decided that I needed to get a start on Christmas cards. Today I played with Winter Frost DSP which was in the holiday cataloge. I love the way it looks when you add a bit of silver.  Lucky for me I brought some silver ribbon when I placed the order for Winter Frost.
