Happy Birthday Wishes - #GDP005

After missing last week's Global Design Project challenge, I thought I would get to it and get back into the craftroom.

This is my entry.

I continued with using a combination of the Kinda Eclectic and Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp sets on the inside of the card.

I used Stampin' Up! punches to punch out the butterflies so I could raise the wings to give them just a little dimension.

This time Global Design Project gave us a colour challenge. If you haven't already checked out their blog, I suggest you do.

Butterfly leaves for a friend

Well once again I have used the lovely and versatile stamp set, Sheltering Tree, but this time with a twist.

This card utilises a few sets to create this image. For the leaves instead of using the stamp from the Sheltering Tree set, I used the butterflies from Perpetual Birthday Calendar. The sentiment for this card is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

The trunk of the tree is in Chocolate Chip ink. The leaves use Melon Mambo and Melon Mambo stamped off, to make it just a little lighter. The sun image is stamped in Blushing Bride. The card stock used is Whisper White and Melon Mambo.

Thank you for visiting my blog,

Another Birthday in July

I know I'm a little behind, but I only gave this one to its new owner on Saturday. This is a quick card to whip up. Just a few stamps here and there, and you're done!

I was trying to think of more ideas that could be universal no matter the sex, as male cards always tend to be a struggle. This was made for yet another sister-in-law, who happens to share a birthday but not birth year with her sister. When I think of her, images of energy and celebration come to my mind, so I kept thinking of fireworks.

I ususally like to stick to people's favorite colour when I am making something for them. In this case we have many shades of green.
