INK & INSPIRATION BLOG HOP - BIRTHDAY SURPRISE

Welcome to the latest Ink and Inspiration blog hop. You are currently visiting Rosalie Desmond from AUSTRALIA. I hope you enjoy this months project. Our theme for this month is - Birthday Surprise.

For today's theme I decided to take the opportunity to add a masculine card to my stash. Birthday cards are the most used card type in our house and I often struggle to come up with ideas for the males in our lives.

The card I have created fits into a standard size Australian envelope which makes it cheaper for posting. To change it up a little from a standard fold, I have created a twisted easel card and used the sentiment "celebrate" bumped up with dimensionals, to hold the front of the card in place.

I stamped some of the images from Artisan Textures in the chosen colours to create background and let word framelits and coloured card stock to do the rest of the work. The colour choice comes from this months Stampin' Up! Color Challenge facebook group. The colour combo is  Pacific Point, Smoky Slate, So Saffron and Real Red.

I hope you enjoy the blog hop.

Happy crafting,

Rosalie

Washi Wednesday #1

Happy Wednesday!

I have had a lot of people asking me "how do I use Washi tape?", so over the next few weeks I will do some Washi Wednesday blog posts to give you some ideas to get you started.

Now I must admit I rarely think of using washi. With so many fun products to choose from, it doesn't surprise me that something is forgotten. Washi is a low tack tape and it is so easy to use. It is a quick and simple way to add that little something to any project or home décor.

Today I am going to use Moroccan Designer Washi Tape.

Moroccan Designer Washi Tape  (141647)

I have decided for the first project in my series on using washi tape I would make a card. I chose to use the washi as a way to decorate one of the elements.

Firstly I started by putting some washi on some whisper white cardstock.

Then I cut out my image. In this case it was the wreath from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.

I then used this element on my card by popping it, using dimensionals and adding a sentiment.

Nice, quick and simple.

I love the way this card turned out. It was so quick and easy to put together. You can use the same simple technique and cut out whatever shape that suits your needs. Always remember that framelits are just shapes. This set was designed to be used for Christmas, but there is nothing to say that you can't find other uses for them, like I have here. In a very similar way, the stamp set I choose to use is aimed for "birthdays" but I have used it to make a card that can be used to celebrate any occasion.

Thank you for stopping by. Looking forward to next Wednesday to see what other uses we can find for our Washi.

SHAKE THAT HAMMER!!!

After the fun making yesterdays shaker card for the Global Design Project I decided to give it another go today. This time instead of using the hexagon shaped framelit from the Build It Framelits for my shaker space I decided to use tool shapes from the same set.

As the tool shapes were smaller than the hexagon I needed to have a few smaller shaker pieces. I stamped the screw heads and tacks on to some cardstock and then fussy cut (cut them out by hand)them.

I then added a few stars from Metallic Enamel Shapes (141678).

Thank you for stopping by,
Rosalie

A card for you...

Stamp sets are often designed in such a way that you can use the images for more than just the obvious.

For this card I used the leaves of the big tree to create a background for my card. I used Pear Pizzazz and Cajun Craze markers directly on the stamp to create the multi-coloured image.

The accent is the single leaf embossed with copper. The sentiment "For You" is also from this set.

The Thoughtful Branches bundle is very versatile. The images of trees, birds, flower, and the amazing sentiments would be a great addition to any crafting collection. This exclusive limited-time bundle is only available until 31 August or until stocks last.

Thoughtful Branches
Bundle (144328) $90.75 AUS
Stamp set (143539) $47 AUS

Make sure that if you love this set as much as I do, that you get in quick as it is only available this month or while stocks last. Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with our special guest Dawn Griffith

Today we are hopping along with the fabulous Dawn Griffith.

We are all excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Dawn. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me.  Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

Once again, there was so many projects to choose from. If you haven't checked out Dawn's blog, I suggest that you do. She is not only talented but she also has amazing video tutorials. I decided to CASE one such brilliant card, which is on her blog, complete with an instruction video. Today's inspiration came from her corner pop up card that she made recently.

I had never seen this style of card before and loved it so much, that I knew it had to be the one to choose. Thank you so much Dawn, for your easy to follow tutorial.

I decided that No Bones About It stamp set would work well with this card design. I teamed it up with Go Wild DSP (double sided paper).

I created some paper for the base of my card by using whisper white cardstock and stamping the dino footprints in Tip Top Taupe and Black.

I popped a white panel on the back and dressed it up just a little. A thought it was a great place to write a message on.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the rest of the Crazy Crafters blog hop,

CASE a Crazy Crafter - Carolina Evans

So the other day I was saying that I was "creatively dead". I just had nothing in me and no project excited me, not even our trusty Pinterest. Yep, I was in that crafting rut.

Anyway the lovely Carolina Evens said "CASE one of my projects!", and this is where my idea for CASE a Crazy Crafter began. So my plan is to choose one Crazy Crafter every Monday and CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit).

This is Carolina's amazing project that inspired me today.

After looking at Carolina's card I was inspired to make a couple of cards.

The first can either be used for a birthday, wedding or even an anniversary. I tried not to make it girly or flowery so it can be given to either gender or a couple.

I used small silver brads to give it some extra sparkle without making it feminine. The sentiment is also heat embossed in black to give it a special look.

My second card, a birthday card, once more I have tried to give it a gender neutral look.

This time I heat embossed the sentiment in silver and added some silver thread (the same as Carolina used but in silver) to add a little something.

Hope you drop by next Monday to see which Crazy Crafter I will CASE. Thanks for stopping by,

Global Design Project - #GDP25

Always love a challenge, in fact I find them very useful to get my creativity going. Today I decided to join in with the Global Design Project challenge for this week - a colour challenge.

Here is what I came up with.

We always need a little something special on the inside.

This stamp set is such an easy one to use in so many different ways. To make this card for a little girl, all we need to do is to use some different colours, cause dinosaurs are for everyone!

Make sure you visit Global Design Project and check out all the other entries in this week's challenge.

Love is...so sweet!

My inspiration for today's card comes from this week's challenge at Global Design Project.

Love!!!

Now thinking of my love and what he loves. Stampin' Up! are yet to do a Nutella stamp, so I went with icecream. Chocolate of course!

Now since icecream is so special, this called for special treatment. I put crystal effects on "LOVE" and the icecream, giving it that little pop I was looking for.

Please note: This card uses the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set from the 2016 Sale-a-bration catalogue. During Sale-a-bration (5 January - 31 March 2016) for every $90 AUD/$110 NZD you spend (before shipping and handling), you get a FREE Sale-A-Bration product. Remember that it is one free item for every $90 you spend, so if you spend $180 you can choose two Sale-a-Bration items free.
