A balloon or two for you #GDP023

It has been a few weeks since I have played along with the Global Design Project, what better time to jump back in with the theme: balloons!

Today I combined two of my favourite stamp sets - Party Wishes and Botanicals for you. Hope you like it.

I have added some bling by using rhinestones and the Wink of Stella glitter brush, to add some sparkle to someone's life.

If you get a chance, make sure you check out all the other entries for this weeks challenge.

For a wonderful friend...

Today had a play for the first time with the hearth and home thinlit dies. For those of you that don't know this is a cute little window die. It is fun and so easy to use.

I teamed it up with the Happy Home stamp set, for the images through the window and also the sentiment on this card. These two can either be brought separately or as a bundle in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.

Time for another birthday!

Birthday cards are my most used cards and my stash is looking very bare, so today it was time for yet another one. Sometimes simple is best.

I decided to use my theme on the outside and carry it over to the inside. I used the pink glimmer paper in the 2016 Occasions catalogue for some of my balloons and one out of melon mambo cardstock.

The sentiment is from Perfect Pairings which is available for free with every $90 spent during this years sale-a-bration period.

A sparkling wish

Today I had a play with Party Wishes stamp set, which is available in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.

I love how this set combines images and sentiments, so there is no need to use more than one set unless you want to.

Although it is not clear in the picture I added a touch of sparkle to the "make a wish" sentiment and also on the top of the cupcake.

Using the wink of stella glitter brush makes adding that special touch easy. Take a look at this video to see just how easy it is to use.

Botanical Blooms Bundle video

I always love it when new Stampin' Up! catalogues come out as I get new products to play with. One of my favourite bundles from the 2016 Occasions catalogue is the Botanical Blooms bundle.

Stamp set and matching framelits. What more could a girl want? A pop up flower, that's what.

Take a look at the video and check out this bundle.

Pretty as a picture

I loved this set when I first saw the occasions catalogue, but after using it I am totally wowed! Picture Perfect must be one of the cutest sets around.

When making handmade cards, don't forget to add something special to the inside.

I am not usually an orange kinda girl, but I wanted to see what the rose would look like in Tangerine Tango. I love it! Can't wait to have time to play with this in some different colours.

Here is a short video to give you some ideas of how to use this set.

Today we celebrate you!

I've been on a roll with this stamp set this week. I do love the versatility of Enjoy the Little Things from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue.

This time I decided to go with a blue theme and utilise one of the square stamps to create my own special background.

This card design could just as easily be made girlie by simply changing the colours, or you could even give it a rainbow effect by changing the colour each time you stamp the background. I may even do one tomorrow to show you how it comes up.

Celebrate the little things

Today I have another sneak peek from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue.

On this card I have used two of the new sets. The floral images are from "Botanical Blooms", and the sentiment is from "Enjoy The Little Things". I love the detail it allows in the flowers.

PLEASE NOTE: These new items will be available for order from 5 January 2016 - 31 May 2016

Crazy Crafters and Pootlers December Blog Hop

This month our blog hop is extra special. The Crazy Crafters (an Australian team) are combining forces with the Pootlers (a UK team).

If you are not familiar with these guys I suggest that you take a look sometime soon as they all do some amazing blogging and some fab tutorials. A huge thank you to Kylie Bertucci and Sam Donald for organising this across the sea hop.

Our Blog Hop for December will be a Sneak Peek from the 2016 Occasions and Sale-a-bration Catalogues. I am sure you are going to find some amazing projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from Fiona Badley's blog. If you get off track at any time, the list of the full lineup is towards the bottom of this post.

For my project I created a wedge box out of basic black cardstock. The DSP I choose for this box is a sheet from the "It's My Party" designer series paper stack from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue which will be available for purchase from the 5th of January.

I then decorated the box using the "Botanical Builder Framelits" to create the flowers. These framelits are amazing. As you can see in the picture below the flower pops out. This is all done by the framelit I did nothing special to create this effect. So quick and simple.

I then used the silver mini brads to hold the flower pieces together, at the same time adding a touch of silver to the flower centres.

The leaves were also part of the Botanical Builder framelit set. However with these I heat embossed the veins in silver, using the "Botanical Blooms" stamp set. These two items will be available either individually or as a bundle.

PLEASE NOTE: These new items will be available for order from 5 January 2016 - 31 May 2016

Thank you for stopping by. Please continue on and see the remainder of the blog hop.

Time to celebrate

Some days it takes a huge effort days its like - wow! Today was one of those wow days.

I had a spare 5 minutes and thought I would check out this weeks challenge at Global Design Project - this weeks theme is "Celebrate". Todays creation just happened. Well my 5 minutes turned into 20, but that's pretty good, right?

Todays post doubles as a sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! 2016 Occasions Catalogue. These products will be available for purchase from the 5th January 2016, unless like me, you happen to be a demonstrator. We get our hands on these goodies a little early.

I am loving the new It's My Party DSP stack. Love the colours, love the styles and I also love that there is a piece of DSP within it for almost anything. I am finding it very versatile.

My 20 minute card did have some help. I already had my sentiment sitting on my desk. At the time it had no other purpose besides - "oh I wonder what this would look like". To create my sentiment I used an Expressions Natural Element (138395), inked it up with black memento. I then added a new product for the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, the clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush. Now this did take awhile to dry, but I think it was worth the wait.
