Every year the same thing happens in my crafty life. Every Christmas I have the last minute rush to create Christmas cards, gifts, tags and decorations. This rush often takes the joy of crafting away, so to help assist to prevent this chaos we created the Christmas Challenge Stampathon.

Be inspired every month with a Christmas Challenge.

The first challenge has been set by Ruth, and its to make 10 tags.

• Everyone is welcome to join in the Challenge.
• The Challenge will be set on the 25th of the month on each of the organisers Facebook pages and will then have followup information on their blogs and YouTube channels.
• The deadline for submission is 11pm on the 24th of the following month in your respective time zone.
• To be entered into the Prize Draw in November you need to participate in all 10 challenges, photos of your projects need to be posted on the Facebook group or emailed to one of the organising demonstrators to be shared, please state your country of residency.  
• To be eligible to win a prize you need to live in the USA, UK or Australia.
• All entries must use at least one Stampin' Up! product.
• The winners will be randomly selected by an online generator from all the eligible participants.
• By submitting a photo you give the organisers permission to use the photo on their blog and social media.
• There are prizes available for each country.  The first prize is US $60, UK £50, AUS $88 of product that the organisers will choose and ship free of charge.  The second prize is a sample of each of the items the organiser/s from your respective country makes.
• Everyone who participates are will be allowed to use our specially designed badge that can be displayed on your blog.
• Please use the hashtag #christmaschallengestampathon2018 in any social media you post your entries too.

Christmas doesn’t need to be always serious, fun is also part of the season, so in that spirit I pulled out the Cookie-cutter Christmas Stamp set. 

Tags come in all shapes and sizes. My normal go-to is using the tag topper punch, but this time I decided to use a slightly different shape using window box thinlits dies. 

I used the Pom Pom stamp to create a little interest on the tag base, and built the tag from there. 

A little vellum, some card stock and then some colouring with Blends (Stampin’ Up! alcohol makers).

INK & INSPIRATION BLOG HOP - 2017 HOLIDAY CATALOGUE

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. This month our blog hop features products from the 2017 Holiday Catalogue.  You are currently visiting Rosalie Desmond from AUSTRALIA. I hope you like the project I am sharing with you this time.

This may seem a little crazy to some people but I have already started wrapping Christmas presents. I am doing this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is much easier to have them wrapped as I purchase them rather than trying to find a hiding space and secondly, my schedule is about to get very hectic for the next few months. So on that note, I have made some gift tags to go on the gifts.

The Merry Little Labels stamp set has been designed with gift tags in mind and four of the stamps  match perfectly with the Everyday Label Punch.

I used gold heat embossing on the "No Peeking" and flirty flamingo ink on the "For, From" on scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock. I then punched them out using the Everyday Label punch and glued a gold foil snowflake, which was cut down so each tag only used a portion of a flake.

The main body of the tags use Flirty Flamingo and Powder Pink card strips 10cm x 5cm and cut them with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch to create the tag shape. I then dry embossed the Flirty Flamingo ones using the Holly embossing folder.

I love the way these turned out. They were quick and simple to make and easy enough to mass produce for multiple gifts.

Getting Ready for Christmas

I am on my way to having my Christmas cards ready in time for Christmas. Now it is time to get stuck into making some Christmas tags to label presents.

Today I thought I would make a simple one using the Wondrous Wreath.

This one uses a combination of real red ink and old olive. Very traditional colours.

Festive Flower Punch

I don't think I have blogged many products that use punches, but I do love them. They are so easy to use and so effective.

The Stampin' Up! 2015 Holiday Catalogue has a couple of new punches in it, but the one that caught my eye is the Festive Flower Punch. I can see this being used on cards, on boxes, on tags and even to dress up the Christmas table.

You can either buy the punch on its own or as a bundle with a matching Reason for the Season stamp set, saving yourself 15%. The stamp set is really cute both with and without the punch.




Now lets see what it looks like in a different colour for non-Christmas events. Now to decide what I am going to do with this one...a project for another day I'd say.

As you can see, there are a few layers involved with creating this flower. Stampin' Up! have released a video to help you learn how to put this together.
