INK & INSPIRATION BLOG HOP - WATERCOLOUR

Today I am participating in the Ink & Inspiration Design Team Blog Hop. This months theme is : Watercolour. You are currently visiting Rosalie Desmond from Australia.

I used some glossy paper with some reinkers and Aqua painters to create a background. I wanted the colours to remain true, so I allowed the background to dry naturally. This process can be sped by using a heat gun on number 1, however, it does change the colour a little.

I then used stamps from Butterfly Basics in Black  Memento. The sentiment "hello" is from the Flourishing Phrases. As a final touch, I brushed on some wink of stella to the cut out butterfly image.

Measurements:

Thick Whisper White Card Base 29.6 x 10.5cm, scored at 14.8cm
Basic Black Layer 14.3 x 9.5cm
Glossy Paper 13.8 x 9cm
Scrap Whisper White to stamp the butterfly on

Thank you for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the blog hop,
Rosalie

CRAZY CRAFTERS BLOG HOP WITH LEA DENTON

Welcome once again to a Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This time we are CASEing (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Lea Denton. I am so excited to have Lea joining us today, her work is absolutely amazing. You should check out her blog. We hope you find great inspiration from todays projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me. Be sure to click on the person listed under me further down the page to continue your journey on this blog hop.

Here is what Lea inspired me to make today. I had a purpose in mind when making this card. A friend has recently been ill and I wanted to wish her well. The sentiment "Sending Wishes Your Way" can be used for so many different events, in this case as a Get Well sentiment.

This is Lea's card that I CASED. I used the concept of using beautiful colours and using emboss resist to create my card. I also Used a similar layout and turned it  portrait rather than landscape.

I sponged Blushing Bride, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach on a clear embossed image from Lovely As A Tree to create my image. The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics. I then added some metallic enamel shapes to finish it off.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you enjoy the remainder of the blog hop,
Rosalie

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with Tracy May

Guess who we get to hop with this time?? Tracy May! Tracy is a lovely Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in the UK. If you haven't seen her work then you need to change that and visit her blog.

This month we are all excited to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) any project that has been created by Tracy May. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.

This card is one of my favourites of Tracy's. I am not sure if it is the simplicity, the balance or the really cute scoring on the side of the card that makes it so amazing. Most likely its just the perfect combination, in any case, I just had to give this one a go to CASE. For full details of her card, please click here.

Here is my card that was inspired by Tracy's design.

I used a Bermuda Bay card base. I stamped using the Time of Year set in Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo and Archival Black ink. The butterfly is cut out of Melon Mambo card stock with silver thread behind. I then put a light coat of Wink of Stella over the whisper white card to give it a shimmer.

I like the look of the scoring at the side of the card so much that I made a second card using the Butterfly Basics set with Perfect Plum cardstock, Blushing Bride and Archival Black ink.

The butterfly is out of blushing bride glimmer paper, with a touch of silver thread behind.

I hope you enjoy the blog hop.

A Happy Birthday - #GDP009

It was certainly an interesting weather day in Melbourne. Rain, thunder storms and just now at 6.20pm we have sun. So I decided to make the most of it and craft.

It's been awhile since I pulled out my Butterfly Basics stamp set, so I thought I would ink it up and see what would happen.

When added a little something to my butterflies I usually use rhinestones, but this time I decided to add some pearls.

I used the colours in this week's Global Design Project for this card. I really love how these challenges force me to use colours that I normally over look.

Loving the butterfly

Today I needed a quick card at the last minute. The kids have not long started back at school and life still seems to be crazy busy, so a quick but pretty card was needed.

This card uses the Butterfly Basics stamp set which is one of my favourites out of the 2015 Occasions catalogue. The ferns were stamped with old olive, three times without reinking. I love this technique. It allows one ink pad to make so many different shades.
