Another Birthday in July

I know I'm a little behind, but I only gave this one to its new owner on Saturday. This is a quick card to whip up. Just a few stamps here and there, and you're done!

I was trying to think of more ideas that could be universal no matter the sex, as male cards always tend to be a struggle. This was made for yet another sister-in-law, who happens to share a birthday but not birth year with her sister. When I think of her, images of energy and celebration come to my mind, so I kept thinking of fireworks.

I ususally like to stick to people's favorite colour when I am making something for them. In this case we have many shades of green.

Hop on a boat and sail away...

One of the many birthdays in July was for one of my sister-in-laws. She turned the magical number of 40! She decided to celebrate this milestone she would go on a cruise with some of her family. So I jumped on board (at least in spirit) and thought I would make her a birthday card with this theme in mind. Perfect use for the Traveler Stamp Set.

Taking into consideration her favourite colour, purple, her recent adventure and her love of all things bling- this is what I came up with. The bling was coloured in using Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities to keep with the use of shades of purple.

Crazy Crafters Colour Combo Blog Hop

Thanks for joining The Crazy Crafters team blog hop. This is time we had to choose a combo of colours from the Stampin' Up! pintrest board for inspiration. There were so many to choose from. As it is the July/August period and this is a huge birthday time in my family, I thought I should combine creating for the Blog Hop and doing some of the birthday cards I need to do.

This is the picture which I took some inspiration from.

This is the tenth stop in our Colour Combo blog hop line. You should have just come from  Sue Wdowik at Nigh Nigh Birdie , if this is your first stop then you can work your way to every blog from here. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you the full hop.

My first creation uses the new stamp set in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalogue called Boys Will Be Boys. This was actually on the top of my wish list when I first saw the catalogue. My son loves robots and lego, so I knew I would use it. Just because the term "boys" is used in the naming of this set, doesn't mean that it can't be used for girls. This card has been designed as a birthday card for a young girl, change the colours and it could be for either gender.

In this card I've used a combination of Big News and Garden Party stamp sets, both are available in the current Annual Catalogue. I love the pretty little images in this stamp set, you can combine them in all sorts of ways.

This is my final card for this months Blog Hop, it uses the Be the Star stamp set. The group of small stars have been heat embossed in silver, to give the card that extra little something. I also used the star punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack Accents, punched out some Daffodil Delight card stock and raised them with dimensionals.

Blendabilities meet Flower Shop

I have been playing some more with my beloved Blendabilities. This time I decided to use some smaller images to see how I would go.

So far Cherry Cobbler is my favourite colour set, but there is so many more to try.
