Just because...

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches #199 challenge.

I decided to take a masculine approach to this sketch. I always have trouble making cards for men, so thought I would use this opportunity to give it a whirl.

I used sahara sand cardstock for the card base, stamped in chocolate chip ink, added some chocolate chip card to the bottom, then stamped my sentiment on very vanilla cardstock.

I love the sentiment on this card, you will find the "just because" sentiment in the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set. The main imagine is from "Lovely as a Tree" set. This set is a versatile set which I have used more times than I can count.

I used a shadowing effect for this card. I created it by double stamping without reinking. When you do the second stamp, you slightly move where the image is, to give an illusion of a forest of trees.

Autumn is...beautiful!

Today I deciced to join in on this weeks challenge at The Paper Players. This week the theme challenge #252 is The Great Outdoors.

In Australia we are in the thick of Winter, but yet I was inspired by Autumn.

I love the brown hues and the crunch of dry leaves under my feet. Watching the kids throwing Autumn leaves at each other, being outside and enjoying nature. On that note, I took these feelings and images, and pulled out the sheltering tree stamp set.

The sentiment came from my go to set - Birthday Blossoms.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy your day.

A Block of Chocolate On Your Birthday

Who doesn't love chocolate on their birthday? Not too many people, right?

While scrolling through Pintrest awhile back I can across a very cute chocolate card by Gabby from ErziArt and had to make one. Of course I put a little Aussie twist on it with some well known colours.

Using elegant eggplant card stock, gold embossed writing and some good old aluminium foil from my kitchen pantry.

Crazy Crafters Stampin' Up! Blog Hop September- Holiday Catalogue

Thanks for joining The Crazy Crafters team blog hop for September. This month focus is on the holiday catalogue which was released on the 28th of August and goes right through to the 5th January 2015. If you haven't already got a copy, then request one from your Stampin' Up! demonstrator or check it out online. No demonstrator? No worries, just drop me an email.

One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is matching. I love matching my boxes or gift tags to the cards I create. So this month I have used one of the new stamp sets in the holiday catalogue to create a Christmas card and then made a matching curvy box using cardstock and the same stamp set, Endless Wishes. It is a very sweet delicate set, which incorporates a variety of greetings for the holiday season. These greetings can be mixed and matched to create a sentiment of your own style.
