A 3D Dream...

Awhile back I found some 3D words in one of our local stores on special, so I picked up a couple. They had been sitting on my desk waiting for me to get a chance to do some magic.

Stamps are not just for paper. You can use them on fabric, glass and wood as well.

This is what I started with.

I painted it white.

Then stamped some stars using black stazon.

A nice and simple project. Now to work out who I am giving this to for Christmas!

A little sparkle for Christmas

Well it seems I'm on a roll this week with playing along with challenges. This inspiration for this card has come from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #292.

As I am madly creating for Christmas, with plans of actually sending them out this year, I thought I would use this challenge today as an opportunity to create another one.

I love Bermuda Bay and I think it shows as I use it so often. The DSP for this card is from "Cherry on top "paper stack. It goes to show that you don't need to stick to DSP that is sold for Christmas. Often you will also find that many of your Christmas DSP can be used for other times of the year as well. I love it when things are versatile.

Please note: Unfortunately I am unable to load a copy of the sketch on to my blog as it is telling me that it is not in the correct format. I will attempt again at a later date as I like to have a picture of the challenge with the project. Until then, please follow the link to Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and take a look at the wonderful creations that this sketch has inspired.

A stary Christmas - #MOJO421

Today's card uses the non-traditional colours of black, white and silver.

One of the images I think of when I think of Christmas is stars. So I carried this star theme throughout my card.

The small banner on the front is out of Whisper White and stamped using the stars from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set in memento black. The white piece of card on the front was stamped with a sentiment, then embossed using the lucky stars embossing folder.

My inspiration for my card today came from this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

I hope you like my card for today. If you would like to follow my blog feel free to subscribe and you will receive an email each time I post.

Thanks for being there- #GDP008

This week is CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the designer at Global Design Project. This weeks inspiration is a lovely card made for this challenge by Kylie Bertucci.

After seeing Kylie's card I instantly came up with this idea. I took inspiration from her idea of making a thank you card and the colours she used.

In the inside I decided to continue the theme of the butterfly I used on the front of my card.

The bordering blooms stamp was used to dress up the top and the bottom of the front. This was stamped using versamark, clear embossing powder added and then heated to set and raise. The wooden "thanks" is from the expressions naturals elements. It was coloured in using Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker. The true colour has not come out very well in these pictures, but it colours up a nice cherry cobbler colour.

Tip: Clear embossing powder can often be used to give an elegant touch without adding another colour to your project.

Congratulations On Your Engagement!

Not so long ago we had some wonderful news, my nephew Andrew got engaged to the lovely Laura. Now I wanted something elegant but simple, so instantly black and white came to mind.

I needed to leave heaps of room to write, so just added a little something to one corner.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop - Theme: Fun Fold

Welcome to the latest Crazy Crafters Blog Hop. This time our theme is Fun Fold. So this means if you follow the hop, you will find a range of ideas for products from the Stampin' up! Holiday Catalogue which was released on 1st September. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog - Rosalie Desmond or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

I was very excited when our theme for this month was announced- Fun Fold! So many different styles that I have never tried. The biggest decision was which one to choose. While searching through Pintrest for some inspiration, I came across a Pyramid Card made by Linda Gutierrez, complete with tutorial. I immediately thought, wow!

The Pyramid card has three sides which you can decorate.

My son thought called this card style "Christmas tree" as he thought that was what I was creating. I think this style is perfect for Christmas as I love to display the cards I receive by I hate that they full over if someone walks too fast near them. This style is much more sturdy that a normal card base.

It's a pink kinda Christmas

My plan this year is to have my Christmas shopping done and Christmas cards made by the beginning of December. Now we all know that this may not happen, but with each card I make, the closer I am to my goal.

Today I have gone with Melon Mambo. I know it isn't a traditional colour, but I always find it bright and happy.

This is the first time that I have added colour to my flower from the Reason for the Season stamp set.

The style of this card is very clean and simple, adding a little bling to give it that little sparkle.

Happy Birthday Wishes - #GDP005

After missing last week's Global Design Project challenge, I thought I would get to it and get back into the craftroom.

This is my entry.

I continued with using a combination of the Kinda Eclectic and Happy Birthday, Everyone stamp sets on the inside of the card.

I used Stampin' Up! punches to punch out the butterflies so I could raise the wings to give them just a little dimension.

This time Global Design Project gave us a colour challenge. If you haven't already checked out their blog, I suggest you do.
